Seminar on Hydrothermal Technology and MoU Signing between CWMI and Universitas Batanghari
A seminar titled “Hydrothermal Technology: A Solution for Urban Waste and Garbage Management” took place alongside the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Center of Waste Management Indonesia (CWMI) and Universitas Batanghari (UNBARI), Jambi.

This event highlighted the growing interest in hydrothermal technology as a sustainable solution for urban waste management, not just in Jambi Province but across Indonesia.

The hydrothermal waste processing technology, developed by a young innovator named Bayu, has already gained significant attention. Bayu’s patented technology is currently being implemented in Tangerang, Banten Province, with the support of a Japanese investor group led by Mr. Kentaro Nagasawa.

As part of its commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, Universitas Batanghari’s Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with CWMI, signed the MoU to enhance research and community service initiatives. These efforts will be conducted at the waste processing plant in Tangerang, with plans for similar facilities to be constructed in Jambi Province. This development aims to address the ongoing waste management challenges in the region.

The event also featured a seminar with key speakers, including Mr. Kentaro Nagasawa (CEO of Shinko Holding Ltd), Dr. Eng. Bayu Indrawan, S.E., S.T., M.T. (Director of CWMI), and Dr. Evi Frimawaty, S.P.T., M.Si. from Jambi’s Environmental Agency (BLHD). They discussed the potential of hydrothermal technology to revolutionize waste management and improve urban environmental conditions.

This collaboration between CWMI and UNBARI marks a significant step forward in developing innovative solutions for waste management in Indonesia, with plans to expand these efforts to Jambi Province in the near future.
