The forum was initiated by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) UISI in collaboration with the Department of Engineering Management UISI. It was attended by UISI students, faculty, and representatives from PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Semen Indonesia Foundation, Semen Indonesia Community Academy, Petra Christian University, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), and other invited guests.
LPPM UISI focuses on areas including energy, halal supply chain, cement business & technology, and creative technology. As energy is a critical issue for Indonesia, the first forum centered on energy studies.
Held at the Cement Research Center, the event featured a presentation by Bayu Indrawan, followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between UISI and CWMI. The agreement aims to establish a partnership where UISI’s academic community can engage in learning and research with CWMI. UISI also plans to send Engineering Management faculty to visit the waste processing facility in Serpong, which collaborates with the Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Anindita Adikaputri Vinaya, S.T., M.T., Head of the Forum, shared, "UISI looks forward to collaborating with practitioners and local government to advance education and research."
Bayu Indrawan, Director of CWMI, added, "This forum has expanded the perspectives of both myself and the participants. We hope it will lead to concrete collaboration and real-world impact for educational institutions, the government, and the wider community."
