Dr. M. Ridwansyah is an Economics and Finance Expert with more than three decades of experience in economic development, natural resource economics, social impact assessment, and sustainable development planning. His expertise focuses on integrating economic perspectives, social considerations, and environmental sustainability into the development of resilient and inclusive infrastructure systems.
With a strong academic background in development and environmental economics, Dr. Ridwansyah holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from IPB University, Indonesia, and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Throughout his career, he has contributed to research, policy development, and strategic advisory roles supporting sustainable development initiatives in Indonesia.
Dr. Ridwansyah currently serves as Senior Technical Advisor to the World Bank Group, providing strategic expertise in economic analysis, social assessment, stakeholder engagement, and policy evaluation for environmental and renewable energy programs. Previously, he served as Chief Economist at Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Indonesia, where he led socio-economic feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and environmental safeguard integration for large-scale development initiatives.
As an Economics and Finance Expert at the Center of Waste Management Indonesia (CWMI), Dr. Ridwansyah contributes to the development of sustainable waste management and Waste-to-Energy (WtE) initiatives through economic feasibility assessment, social impact analysis, and community engagement strategies. His work focuses on ensuring that waste management transformation creates not only environmental benefits but also economic value, social resilience, and inclusive opportunities for communities.
Beyond his professional roles, Dr. Ridwansyah serves as Senior Lecturer and Research Coordinator at Universitas Jambi, where he leads research and knowledge development in environmental economics, investment planning, agroindustry development, and sustainable resource management. His research contributions have supported the advancement of green economy strategies, circular economy models, and evidence-based environmental policies.
Through his multidisciplinary expertise, Dr. Ridwansyah bridges the connection between economics, society, and environmental sustainability. His vision is to promote development approaches where innovation, investment, and community participation work together to accelerate Indonesia’s transition toward a sustainable and circular economy.
