Suhaemi Fattah is a Social Expert with extensive experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, and sustainable infrastructure development, particularly in the fields of Waste-to-Energy (WtE), circular economy, and zero-waste systems. With more than 15 years of experience, he specializes in bridging technology implementation with social acceptance, ensuring that environmental solutions are aligned with community needs, governance frameworks, and sustainable development goals.


Throughout his career, Suhaemi has played an important role in facilitating collaboration among government institutions, communities, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to support the successful implementation of environmental and renewable energy initiatives. His expertise includes social impact assessment, public consultation, institutional coordination, and the development of inclusive strategies for sustainable waste management transformation.


As Director of Compliance & Government Affairs at the Center of Waste Management Indonesia (CWMI), Suhaemi provides strategic leadership in policy integration, stakeholder engagement, and social feasibility assessment for waste management and Waste-to-Energy initiatives across Indonesia. He supports the development of community-centered approaches that strengthen public participation and long-term acceptance of sustainable waste solutions.


Suhaemi has been actively involved in promoting innovative waste treatment solutions, including Hydrothermal Waste Treatment Technology (HWTT), developed through collaboration with Tokyo Institute of Technology. His work focuses on ensuring that emerging waste technologies are implemented with consideration of social dynamics, environmental responsibility, public health, and local development priorities.


His experience includes supporting city-scale waste-to-energy planning in regions such as Makassar and Morowali, as well as developing rural zero-waste models based on renewable energy systems. Through these initiatives, he contributes to creating practical solutions that transform waste challenges into opportunities for economic empowerment, environmental improvement, and community resilience.


With a strong understanding of social systems and sustainable development, Suhaemi continues to advance CWMI’s mission of building an inclusive circular economy ecosystem where technology, communities, and governance work together toward a cleaner and more sustainable Indonesia.
