Dr. Eng. Ir. Farid Triawan is a Mechanical Engineering Expert with expertise in mechanical systems, thermal technologies, and sustainable engineering solutions. With a strong background in academic research, industrial engineering, and technology development, he contributes to the advancement of innovative solutions for waste management, energy conversion, and circular economy applications.
Dr. Farid earned his Doctor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, and his Bachelor of Engineering degree with Cum Laude distinction from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. His expertise focuses on machinery design, solid mechanics, thermal systems, and engineering optimization for sustainable infrastructure.
As a Mechanical Engineering Expert at the Center of Waste Management Indonesia (CWMI), Dr. Farid provides technical expertise in the development of Waste-to-Energy (WtE) and Pengolahan Sampah menjadi Energi Listrik (PSEL) initiatives. His contributions include mechanical system evaluation, technology assessment, feasibility studies, and engineering optimization for critical components such as incinerators, thermal combustion systems, boilers, and energy recovery equipment.
Beyond his role at CWMI, Dr. Farid serves as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Sampoerna University, where he leads engineering education, research development, and innovation initiatives. His academic leadership is complemented by international industrial experience as a Mechanical Research Engineer at Torishima Pump Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Japan, contributing to advanced machinery design and performance improvement.
